Seaplane Rating

Have you thought about getting a rating just for fun? Getting your Seaplane Rating will not only sharpen your water flying skills but also make you an overall better pilot because you will fly at low altitude using outside references and “stick and rudder” skills.

During your Seaplane Training with one of our experienced instructors you will learn how to take- off and land on water, beach and dock a Seaplane.

Our Accelerated Seaplane Course takes 2 days during which you fly 7 hours followed by a check ride with our designated FAA examiner.

Each year, between May and November, pilots from all over the world gather at our Seaplane Base located in the picturesque resort town of Belgrade Lakes to gain experience flying the Backcountry and training for their Seaplane Rating.

Belgrade Lakes village is located 20mins from I-95 and 30 min from Augusta State Airport (KAUG) and 20mins from Waterville (KWVL).

As a summer destination Belgrade Lakes is the ideal vacation spot with a first class 16 hole golf course, fine dining, boat and jet ski rental at the Seaplane Base.

The Seaplane Base is located 5 min from downtown Belgrade Lakes at Great Pond Marina. Accommodations (including a campground and motel) are within 5mins walking distance from the Seaplane Base.
